Meadow Run Knoll
Meadow Run Knoll is a unique
Multi-use dog facility located adjacent to the southeast corner of Meadow Run Park. In addition to Camp Fido dog daycare, the facility offers training classes, workshops, and a puppy day school provided by Tip Top Tails Dog Training. The Knoll even has a dog-friendly tavern, The Thirsty Hound, perfect for those who like to enjoy a beverage with their best friend! All three of these businesses have very synergistic operations with each other and with Meadow Run Park. Following are descriptions of these businesses.
Camp Fido Dog Daycare
At Camp Fido, our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and stimulating experience where your dog will receive plenty of exercise and positive social interaction in an environment that is monitored at all times by experienced dog wranglers.
Camp Fido was the first dog daycare in the Kalamazoo area, opening our doors at our Stadium Drive location in 2002. Our mission was simple: provide dogs with a stimulating, safe, and rewarding experience. Over the past two decades, we have acquired extensive knowledge that has informed how we train our wranglers, design our spaces and interact with our campers. With these insights, we have created and continue to create environments for your dog that are second to none.
We offer two facilities that fit a wide range of sizes, personalities, energy levels, and play styles:
The Camp Fido Knoll facility is a climate-controlled 5,000 square foot facility, which features high-end agility floors, large indoor daycare spaces as well as multiple outdoor play yards. Camp Fido Knoll predominately houses our small dogs and young puppies that are less than 25 pounds.
Camp Fido Stadium Drive is home base to our medium to large-sized campers and offers extra-large outdoor yards as well as 3,000 square feet of climate-controlled indoor space to play and relax.

The Thirsty Hound Tavern
The Thirsty Hound is a dog-friendly tavern where people can come with their well-behaved dogs to eat, drink, and hang out with friends—or make new ones.
Beverages
We have three local craft beers on tap, additional canned beers, red and white wines from Cody Kresta and Lawton Ridge local wineries, hard cider, Prosecco, canned cocktails, bourbon & whiskey, diet & regular sodas, bottled water and flavored waters, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
Food
In order for us to follow our vision of a dog-friendly tavern, inside and outside all year round, we decided to decline our food license. Following are other options for our patrons to have food with our beverages: bring your own prepared food or have it delivered, patronize our scheduled food trucks mid-April through mid-Oct, or purchase from our assortment of pre-packaged snacks.
Dog Treats
We sell our own frozen plain yogurt with natural flavorings (peanut butter & pumpkin, blueberry or strawberry), carrot-oat-apple bite-size morsels, nibble cookies (banana, sweet potato, or beef), and bite-size dehydrated meats (chicken breast, steak, pork), no additives.
We also sell visit passes to Meadow Run Park to be used when the tavern is open Tue-Sat, 3 pm-9 pm. Be sure to bring your dog’s current shot records.
