In order to access our private dog park in Kalamazoo, a membership for your dog is required or visit with a day pass. Location & Layout

Meadow Run Dog Park is located conveniently near US-131 and I-94 in Kalamazoo, just west of Western Michigan University and the Kalamazoo SPCA.  It is set in Oshtemo Township on 24 acres of lush, rolling meadows.  The park has two gate entrances, both off of 8th Street.  Members may use either the main gate located by the park office or the second gate by The Thirsty Hound.  The park consists of a large meadow, a separately fenced area for shy or small dogs, the agility area, the separately fenced large pond with regulation size dock for dock jumping, and the park office with self-grooming equipment.
The park is a secure and well-maintained site:
  • 24 acres fully fenced perimeter with 5 1/2′ above ground and 6″ underground
  •  two double-gated secure member accesses
  • security cameras 
  • park employees onsite ~80% of the time that the park is open
  • shot records of all visitors and members required and tracked
  • two bathrooms accessible directly from the park, always available for use
  • 12,000 sq ft of swimming area with beach
  • separately fenced pond area with a shaded pergola and chairs
  • rest areas with benches, water, and poop bag stations
  • separately fenced small/shy dog area
  • walking paths are plowed in the snow during winter

Member Park Hours

The park will be open to members every day of the year from 6:00 am – 9:00 pm. Members will be supplied with an access card that will allow them to pass through both of the double-gated security entrances.  The gates will not permit entry after the closing hour. The park may be closed for a few days each year for maintenance or special activities.

Visitors

Visitors or members without an access card will only be able to access the park when the office is open.
Office hours are 10:00 am-6:00 pm every day except the office is open until 8:00 pm on Tuesdays.  The office will be closed on Mondays and holidays.
Visitors must have proof of current immunizations (rabies, distemper, parvo, bordetella) for entry into the park.
If Kalamazoo public schools are closed due to inclement weather, then the office will not be open that morning and possibly the afternoon depending upon the road conditions.  If the weather becomes very bad in the afternoon, the office may close early.  If you are planning on coming out and are in doubt because of the weather, please call the office at  269.353.4736 to confirm visiting.  Members always have access to the park from 6 am to 9 pm regardless of weather or road conditions.
